I was no longer able to use SMB to share my files to Kodi so I switched to NFS. – The Pattern Menu has moved from the Channel rack to the Toolbar Menu and Pattern Selector. Fl studio for mac free full version. Special thanks and shout-out to Klojum on the Kodi support form, and to everyone who contributed to the Kodi wiki. First we need to disable System Integrity Protection to be able to edit '/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.nfsd.plist' to allow non root users access to the NFS share. Boot to the Recovery Partition by holding the Command and R buttons during boot. Select your language and then from the menu bar select Utilities, then Terminal. In terminal run the command: /usr/bin/csrutil disable Next run the command: reboot This will reboot the computer to your normal log in. Once you have logged in open terminal and run the command: sudo nano /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.nfsd.plist Using only the keyboard add the line: -N In the array section so that it looks like: /sbin/nfsd -N Exit nano by pressing control-x, it should ask you to save the file and confirm the filename. Reboot your computer back to the recovery partition. Open the terminal and run the command: /usr/bin/csrutil enable This will re-activate the System Integrity Protection. Reboot your computer. Now you are ready to setup the share definitions. These are defined in the file “exports” in the “/etc/” directory. Open terminal and run: sudo nano /etc/exports The shares are defined by 2 sections. Fist what folder is being shared then options of the share for who can access it. So if you had a folder in the root of your hard drive named “Media” you wanted to share out for all users you would add the line: /Media/ -ro -mapall=nobody -addirs This would share the “/Media/“ folder as read only, map the incoming user to nobody and they can access all of the directories in the Media folder. Once you are finished adding shares you can exit and save the file by pressing control-x. Next you want to make sure the nfsd service is running by issuing the command: sudo nfsd start Now to setup Kodi to access the new nfs share. In my case I was not able to get my Kodi setups to access the nfs share until I removed the data folders and re-setup from scratch. NOTE THIS NEXT STEP WILL REMOVE ALL SETTINGS FROM KODI On my Mac client I deleted the folder /Users/USER_NAME/Application Support/kodi The easiest way to access a users library folder is to hold down option while selecting “Go” in the finder menu. Then navigating to the kodi folder and trashing it. On my Android boxes I used the system settings to clear all data for the Kodi app. In my Media folder I have separate folders for movies and tv shows named, Movies, and TV. In kodi I navigated to the files section then Add Videos. In the Add video source dialog I typed in the path to the NFS share. Nfs://IP_ADDRESS:2049/Media/TV/ Where IP_ADDRESS is the IP address of the computer sharing the files. Named the media source as TV then let kodi know to scrape for TV shows. I then repeated for the movies share. Hopefully this will help anyone trying to setup NFS on the MacOS. Hey Fred- looks like I couldn't even get to that step haha.
